LAKE BARRINGTON, IL — State Representative Martin McLaughlin (R-Lake Barrington) is inviting homeowners to attend one of three upcoming Property Tax Appeal Assistance Events hosted by his office this summer. The events will provide residents with information and resources to help them understand the property assessment appeal process.
“Property taxes continue to be one of the biggest concerns I hear from residents across the district,” said Rep. McLaughlin. “These events are designed to help homeowners better understand their assessments and ensure they have the information they need to navigate the appeal process.”
Representatives from local township assessor offices will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on filing appeals.
The following events are scheduled:
Lake County Property Tax Appeal Event
- Tuesday, July 14 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Wauconda Township Offices
- 505 W. Bonner Rd., Wauconda, IL 60084
Cook County Property Tax Appeal Event
- Friday, July 17 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- South Barrington Village Hall
- 30 S. Barrington Rd., South Barrington, IL 60010
McHenry County Property Tax Appeal Event
- Thursday, August 6 | 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Algonquin Township Offices

Residents planning to attend are encouraged to bring a copy of their property tax bill and any assessment notices they have received.
“Illinois families are already dealing with rising costs in nearly every aspect of daily life,” McLaughlin added. “I encourage residents to take advantage of these free events and learn more about the options available to them.”
