Today, we had an old friend, Father Jack, open the House with a prayer which was well received. Fr. Jack has been with the Misericordia Home for children and adults with learning disabilities. Outside the House chamber today, there were hundreds of underprivileged kids urging Speaker Welch to call a vote on extending the Invest in Kids Act. This would allow the current successful school choice program to continue helping over 10,000 students in Illinois attend school. I again ask the Speaker to move the bill and allow us to take a vote. I filed HB4105 to remove the political sunset provision from this successful, evidence-based, and bipartisan Scholarship program. It is time to come together to help these families allow their kids to flourish.
