Rep. McLaughlin Perplexed by Democrats Committee Deadline Priorities

LAKE BARRINGTON… State Representative Martin McLaughlin (R-Barrington Hills) released the following statement after the long week in Springfield completing the committee deadline to move legislation to second reading for further floor debate.

Rep. McLaughlin said, “Trillions in unnecessary taxes were proposed. No spending or ethics reforms, but no one in Illinois should be surprised by the out-of-touch majority party in the state legislature.”

“Democrats believe that you and your family exist to be taxed so they can redirect, redistribute, and ultimately restructure our country into something entirely foreign that no one will recognize,” said McLaughlin.

Rep. McLaughlin said, “All of your hard earned money will flow right out of your hands and through the political elite’s coffers as they propose new taxes and piggy back off federal social programs supplemented with even more of our state dollars.”

“The cradle-to-grave government is here and growing faster than ever, especially in Illinois.  I will keep working to expose and stop this madness, but we all need to recognize the terrible malfeasance being conducted by the great liberal promenade in our state,” concluded Rep. McLaughlin.
